My Hilarious Hunt for the 3.1 Radiant Spincrystals in the Great Red Sand
Great Red Sand Radiant Spincrystals guide reveals all six music disc locations in Sumeru’s vast desert for your Serenitea Pot collection.
Let me tell you, the Great Red Sand in Sumeru is a liar. A big, beautiful, sandy liar. From the map, it looks like a manageable patch of beige. In reality, it's a sprawling, sun-scorched ocean of dunes that makes finding six tiny, coin-shaped music discs feel like searching for a specific grain of sand. And I, your intrepid (and slightly sun-stroked) Traveler, took on the challenge. Why? Because the soundtrack in this game is a masterpiece, and I absolutely needed those new tunes for my Serenitea Pot. A little musical oasis in the desert, if you will.
I learned the hard way that none of these Radiant Spincrystals are hiding in ruins or caves. Nope. They're all out in the open, baking under the Teyvat sun, which sounds easy until you realize 'open' means 'an area roughly the size of my patience after the third hour of searching.' Some are kind enough to sit in plain sight, practically waving from a dune crest. Others? They have a knack for blending into rock formations like they're playing the world's most annoying game of hide-and-seek.
Thank the Archons for folks like JustCrow Gaming. While I was running in circles, likely being laughed at by a group of confused Sumpter Beasts, they had already charted the entire thing. My pride was bruised, but my completionist heart was saved. Here’s the breakdown of my chaotic, often ridiculous, journey to find all six of these musical treasures in the 3.1 update.

My Not-So-Great Desert Safari:
My strategy was simple: pick a direction and walk. Spoiler: it was a terrible strategy. The desert is vast, and the landmarks all start to look the same after a while. Was that the rock I passed an hour ago, or its evil twin? To save you from my fate, here’s a more sensible guide based on my trials, errors, and occasional triumphant shouts that scared the local wildlife.
-
Spincrystal #1: The "Okay, This One Was Easy" Crystal. Found near a lone, distinctive rock structure not far from the Teleport Waypoint in the north-west. It was just sitting there, shiny and unassuming. I almost missed it because I was too busy admiring the view. A gentle start to lull me into a false sense of security.
-
Spincrystal #2: The "Are You Kidding Me?" Crystal. Perched precariously on top of a tall, narrow rock pillar. I spent a good ten minutes trying to climb the wrong, much smoother pillar next to it before realizing my mistake. Cue the awkward glide over. My dignity did not make the journey with me.
-
Spincrystal #3: The "Camouflage Champion" Crystal. Nestled at the base of a large cliff face, partially obscured by smaller rocks and shadows. I must have run past this spot three times. It wasn't until I stopped to defeat a suddenly aggressive Wenut that I literally stumbled over it. Thanks, I guess, angry desert worm?
-
Spincrystal #4: The "Oasis Mirage" Crystal. Located near a small, sad-looking patch of greenery that barely qualifies as an oasis. I saw the water, got excited, ran over, and almost stepped on the Spincrystal. It was a two-for-one deal: a momentary respite from the desert theme and my prize.
-
Spincrystal #5: The "High Ground" Crystal. This one was on a high plateau, requiring some actual parkour skills (or a handy Zhongli pillar). The view from up there was spectacular. The Spincrystal was just sitting there, enjoying the breeze. I felt a strange kinship with it in that moment.
-
Spincrystal #6: The "Finale by the Ruins" Crystal. The last one was chilling near some ancient, broken structures. It felt poetic, like the desert was offering up a piece of history along with a new song. By this point, my search pattern was slightly more refined, and I found it without too much drama.
Lessons Learned in the Sand:
-
The Map is a Trickster God. Never trust the perceived scale. Always assume the area is at least three times bigger than it looks.
-
Look Up, Look Down. Some are high, some are low. My neck and my boots have never been so involved in a collectible hunt.
-
Patience is a Virtue (I Lack). It's a marathon, not a sprint. Take breaks, enjoy the scenery, maybe do a Domain or two. The Spincrystals aren't going anywhere (probably).
Was it worth it? Absolutely. Unlocking those new Sumeru desert tracks in my Serenitea Pot and hearing that sweet "Collection Complete" sound was a dopamine hit like no other. The Great Red Sand tried to break me with its sheer size and sneaky hiding spots, but in the end, I emerged victorious, slightly dehydrated, and with a fantastic new playlist. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go listen to these on a loop while floating on a leaf in my teapot. The desert can wait. 😎
